I am going to try write an entire blog post without saying “balls” or “diarrhea”.  I think I can do it. The problem now is that in my head it’s just chirping away, “balls, diarrhea, balls, diarrhea, balls….”

I think I may have just thought of a solution, I could just use vaginal hood and gonorrhea, just this one time, just to get by.

…. or I could talk about something completely different and better in every way.  Vinylpull has been very lucky to get a wonderful list from the best radio DJ in Columbus, Tom Butler! I won’t say much here because I think the list speaks for itself, but I should mention this is just the kind of list I get excited about—vaginal hood and gonorrhea excited!

I find the list so compelling because it has some albums I hold very dear, some I have wanted to dive into more and a couple I have never heard of or considered but really want to check out now.  I just got this list last night but have already dug in myself and have not been disappointed, I suggest you do the same.  Without anymore long-winded bullshit, here is the list now:

Here are 10 records I couldn’t live without.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE – LOVELESS

BLACK FLAG – DAMAGED

JOY DIVISION  – CLOSER

BLACK SABBATH – VOL. 4

THE DAMNED – THE BLACK ALBUM

FRED NEIL – FRED NEIL

THE SISTERS OF MERCY – FLOODLAND

MINOR THREAT – MINOR THREAT

THE SMITHS – MEAT IS MURDER

ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN – OCEAN RAIN

I find this just about perfect for our sister app TriYou as I think many people could make great discoveries just off this one list alone.

I see a list like this and I just get greedy.  Now I want to see Mr. Butler’s top ten films and books too! I would wager I’d like it and probably find some more stuff I need to check out.  Hopefully we can all see them on TriYou very soon.  I can only imagine it was very hard to narrow the album list to just 10 so I really appreciate that. I do think that having a limit can make you deliberate on what your very favorites are and why they hold that place in your heart, but I know it’s a challenge for people who love music.

Are you guys proud of me? I have not said balls or diarrhea yet! It’s been difficult for me but with your support I think I can hang on just a bit longer.

On a better note, comment below and let us know what you think of this list.  As I stated before I bet his film list is great too, I just have assumed that when one list is this good the person’s good taste will transfer over to the other categories.  If his movie list is anything like mine, the first 5 will be Rocky 3 and the next 5 will be Rocky 4.

Here is some info on Tom Butler that is worth checking out:

  1. There are some on here that I’ve never heard of or have heard a couple songs but not the full album. I will definitely check these out. Must be good when it’s from someone whose entire job revolves around music. Thanks for posting.
