Do you consider some of your favorite lyrics also some of your favorite poetry?
Yes? You illiterate fuck you! I do too! In that spirit I wrote some lyrics or if you will, a poem of my own:
Dance with me my Scrotal Pull,
Engage the heathered day.
Yeast dried clowns with cluttered jewels
Have fingers in the bay.
To touch the frost and leave unscathed
Is surely cruelty’s way
To put your Father in the bath
and scrub the horse’s neigh.
Cliffs Note—the horses neigh is your father’s asshole.
I will share here just a few songs that have some of my favorite lyrics. I should predicate it by saying lyrics are normally the last thing I pay attention to in a song, and I won’t go into why I like these so much, see what you think. I believe it’s better to listen to them than to see them printed. I know I set the bar pretty high with that gem I penned above, but try to erase that from your memory and listen to these:
Bob Dylan’s Ballad of a Thin Man from Highway 61 revisited:
The Beatles Yer Blues from The White Album (Lennon mentions Dylan’s Mr. Jones)
Pavement’s In The Mouth a Desert from Slanted and Enchanted
Nirvana’s Milk It from In Utero
But I think this one will give even my poem a good run for its money, or kick right square in the nuts. Check it out:
I feel inspired so I will make up another one right now, I hope I don’t intimidate you with my talent.
If I had a dump truck,
I’d repair Aunt Sue’s VAGINA!
I only spent 3 hours and 4 dollars on that one. If I had a band, I’d lay that fucking track down right now. As it stands it’s just going to have to be a poem. If anyone is interesting in publishing a book of my poetry or wants to add an original of their own, leave it in the comments below.
I know I said it’s better to hear lyrics than see them printed but that was a long time ago.
I will give you some more of my favorites here, I think this is by E 40:
Finger me, finger me, finger me, finger me………
